Controversial Issues

1. FOOD STAMPS- The only people that should have food stamps are people that need them. When people go to a grocery store with foodstamps and purchase over $100 in junk food doesn't deserve them when people who need them and would buy healthy foods for their children don't get them.

2. ABORTION- I don't think that people should be alowed to have an abortion. If you can't afford to take care of a kid then don't have sex. There are also alternatives by wearing condoms and birth control.

3. WELFARE -I believe that people shouldn't have welfare. Alot of people use this system and don't get jobs and live off of welfare. That's wrong this is supposed to be a proud country people should get off their ass and get a job instead of being lazy.

4. RASCISM- I believe that rascism isn't right and people who are rascist should live with that other ethnicity and see how they really are instead of judging by outside appearance.

5. 2012- The topic of if the world is going to end in 2012 is very interesting to me. It is very controversial and it would be fun and exciting to see the different view points and try to come up with an actual conclusion to what is really going to happen.

  2. I like the first and third one. They are both unique. My favorite is the first topic because that subject can be funny. The subject is actually ironic, you know?

  3. I totally agree with topic #1 and #2. I know too many people that take advantage of this system. That means our tax money going towards these people who are perfectly capable of getting a job to truly pay for their own goods but yet are living off our tax money. Your subject about abortion, I think is a bit too sided. I think that in a world today, it's hard to tell a person that if they don't want to risk getting a kid to not have sex at all. I am pretty sure a lot of people would get mad. Condoms and birth control can only do so much, it's on the label saying that they cannot guarantee 100% protection. Abortion is a good way to protect a child from having to live a life of rejection since they were not planned.

  4. totally agree with your 3rd post. people need to get off their ass and work.all they do is sit at home and get paid for it. and the people who work are paying for them to sit and do nothing.

  5. I think your welfare comment is very arguementative. Your right some people may not deserve them. But personally I grew up with 2 other sisters my mom was divorced and my dad would never send child support. My mom is not lazy she worked as a cna and in an eye doctors place just to try to support her family. Clearly it just was not enough. I think that the welfare topic is really good and can be very argumentative.

  6. I totally agee with your racism post. I hate people that judge others based on their ethnicity. But for your abortion post, I don't agree I think it really depends upon the situation that occurs. What if the girl was raped? I know if I was raped an i got pregnant I would not consider keeping that child.

  7. So these topics are really contraversial cause I could argue with just about all of them. I think that the 1st and 3rd ones will be really good research papers because people will have very strong opinions on each side.

  8. i also agree with your ideas on welfare. i am seeing exactly what you said in the last sentence every day, and its making me realize how much people take jobs for granted, and another side is that married couples can magnify this controversy. for instance the wife could be working full time at a decent paying job, while the husband could sit around the house and "leech" off of the money being made ( not by himself)

    or vice versa..

  9. Hi Kenny,
Wow! Talk about controversy! Each of your topics is interesting, and your viewpoint certainly is debatable.

Is it possible for people who use food stamps to buy "junk food?" I thought there were specific stamps for specific items?

On welfare, what about the people who don't abuse the system and need it? Crachelle makes a very valid point.

Racism and Abortion are large topics. What is your angle?

  10. the abortion one does not seem realistic to me honestly how many people do you think before they have sex think oh do i have enough money incase i get a girl pregant, you have to remember sex is something humans need to do not just for reproduction, the world is over populated any ways, and what if a 12 year old girl got pregnant some how what kinda of 12 year old should go through that?

  11. To answer Ms. Difabios ?s people get this card nowadays that says independance card. For one it should be called a dependent card because they're not the ones buying the food people like us who work our ass off to make money to afford things still have to pay for their groceries. They get over $500 dollars in foodstamps and buy over a hundred dollars worth of junk food and seafood for cookouts and all. Idk about you, but it kind of pisses me off to see that i'm paying for someone to have a party and get fat instead of working hard for that.

When it comes to the welfare, some people may need it, but not forever. I mean if someone works hard enough they can do anything in life. My mom had 5 kids and worked 2 jobs and my dad worked 2 jobs also which made it possible to take care of us and to not use welfare. Welfare to me is like giving up on yourself. When you have to resort to something like that. To me it basically means you have failed.
